Philippines Trip 2011
The Philippines Mission Trip consists of 10 individuals who will living, eating, working and sleeping in Bohol, Philippines between 24 September and 8 October 2011.
Pastor McKay gave 4 goals that we hoped to achieve while we are in the Philippines.
- To glorify God in everything that we do.
- To encourage the local church and school.
- To build a canteen and dining hall for the local school.
- Challenge ourselves.
The main project of this trip will be the construction on the canteen and dining hall for Bohol/Maranatha Christian Academy (BMCA) where we will be based for the duration of the trip. Thanks to the efforts put in by Pastor McKay and Gil, we will have that opportunity. During the planning stage of this project, we have had many a trial trying to get it off the ground. So praise be to God that He has provided for us is so many ways when it comes to this project.
But that is not the only thing we will be doing. There are many activities planned during the two weeks and particularly on the weekends. Every member of the team will be involved in preaching or leading a Sunday School on most weekends. John will be teaching a class of about 90 3rd grade students a geography class on Australia and also talking at the chapel time at the school. Pastor McKay and Bill will both be preaching a few times at various churches. We will also spend time in fellowship with staff and students at both campuses of Maranatha Christian Academy and the Bible college on several occassions.
If you would like to keep up to date with what is going on during the trip, we have set up a blog site that we will be posting to regularly to share how God has been working in our lives and the lives of the people in Bohol and the surrounding islands.
