OUR HISTORY
In 1956, a number of Christians, believing that God wanted them to serve Him without denominational ties, established the Gymea Peoples Church and commenced Sunday services in a scout hall in Talara Road, Gymea. The first full-time pastor of the church was the Rev. W.J. Harrison.
After some time, land was purchased in President Avenue and a building erected. Pastor Harrison passed away while holidaying overseas in 1962. The work developed for the next 21 years under the care and leadership of Pastor Spencer Clark and has continued to do so under his successors.
In 1979, the Church purchased land at 166 Gymea Bay Road. The original building was moved to the new site where it was modernised and extended. Our current Pastor, Earle McKay, began his responsibilities here in 1992 after completing two years’ ministry in the Philippines.
Over the years a wide range of ministries have been developed under sound leadership from within the Church family. We are available to extend Christian care and kindness to families within our community.
